This true story has happend in Berlin 1975. Christiane F. (Nadja Brunckhorst) is a 13 year old girl living in Gropiusstadt, Berlin, Germany. Gropiusstadt ist one of the bad parts of Berlin, dominated by skyscrapers and a ghetto like surrounding. Having a bad realtionship towards her familiy Christiane´s only friend is Kessi ( Daniela Jaeger), an older girl. One day Kessi tooks Christiane to a discotheque called "Sound". It is Christinane´s first visit of a discotheque and her first contact with drug consumers. She is shocked seeing a senseless junkie lying on the floor of the toilet. From now on Christiane is spending every weekend in the "Sound" and getting new friends there. Soon she recognizes all her friends are taking drugs. After a while of visiting the "Sound" she fells in love with Detlef (Thomas Haustein). He is a junkie too and Christiane is trying her first heroine. Thinking she is having everything under control, she starts taking the heroine by injections. Getting deeper and deeper into the dschungle of getting money for the drugs by protituting herself life becomes a living nightmare to Christiane F.
