The Lazarus Project tells the story of ex-convict Ben (Paul Walker) who is given the death sentence after commiting a crime that goes awry and causes the deaths of three people including his brother. Ben is next found walking around in Portland not sure of what is going on and then becomes a groundskeeper at a psychiatric ward. After being told that he has been given a second chance to make ammends for what he has done but he he can never see his wife (Piper Perabo) or daughter (Brooklynn Proulx) again and if he tries to leave the ward death will find him again for he is angry that he got away the first time. Ben tries to make due with this new life but soon realizes that he can't just let go of his family, Ben goes through many tasks to get back to them testing not only his wits, but his mental stability as well.
